Treasherlocked 2.0 the annual online cryptic treasure hunt organized by the Microsoft Campus Club of NIT Rourkela, not only lived up to the standards set by its precedent but created a platform for the best of the country to pitch themselves against each other. This time, there was a mini-series conducted for 10 days, as a warm-up for the actual event on facebook.
The website had been entirely designed and maintained by members of the club had about 4,33,776 views and 8879 unique users. The number of registered participants this time was 5758, out of which 1214 actively participated, and an average session was for about 28:07 minutes. Treasherlocked does not necessarily test its players on trivia or knowledge, but in fact tries to bring out their analytical skills to the fore. The hunt is spread out over different levels and each level has a clue which points towards a unique answer. Since the internet and various search engines are at oneÔÇÖs fingertips, the key is to think out of the box and form connections, quickly.
Only by clearing one round, can the next round be unlocked, and in this manner the game proceeds. The co-sponsor for this event, Punam Book Store provided prizes for certain checkpoints in the game, which were: Sushovan Sahoo, NIT Rourkela (Level 4) who won The Alchemist, Pavan Kalyan, NIT Rourkela (Level 9) who won Intex Headphones, Neha Nayak, NIT Rourkela (Level 10) who won a Smart Charger, Rohit Beck, Muzzafarpur, New Delhi (Level 18) who won the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy and Rohit Mandal, MIT Manipal (Level 25), who won the Lord of The Rings Trilogy. Our title sponsors, 10.kya.com provided prizes wroth Rs. 15,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 to Rajat Rajput (IIIT Allahabad), Vikrant Mishra (NIT Rourkela), Ashish Ram (NIE, Mysore), respectively.
All in all, the event was a huge success and the wait has already begun for the next edition!
