New years is coming and most of us have plans for going out with out family, friends, or a special one. May the plan centre a dinner, a club or just a walk down by the shore, you want to look beautiful and dressy. Confused? Here’s a guide into how to enter 2015 in style with the top 5 styles you simply need to try.

Jagmehar brings you┬áthe top 7 looks she recommends if you’re in warm Mumbai (not in the freezing cold of┬áthe country..brrrrr)

1. Palazzo pants.

Do NOT think hippie, Palazzo pants are in, stylish and comfortable and worn with the right accessories, they look hot and dressy. Pair a printed palazzo pants with a plain tee shirt and layer it up with a light shrug or a bright scarf, long dangling earrings and a chunky bracelet. Best buys if you don’t want to spend a lot would your local Hill road/ Linking road or Gobal desi.

2. Muscle tees.

Muscle tees are comfortable, breezy and casual in a unique way. The best way to wear them is with a lace bandeau or a solid coloured tee back and pair them up with shorts or jeans. A very good collection is housed by Forever 21 and they do have an online store worth checking out.

3. Crop tops.

These are very in this season and can be worn with practically anything. Team up a floral or printed crop top with high waist shorts or jeans. These also go very well with skirts. These can be found at ZARA, Mango and Only.

4. Skater dresses.

Skater dresses are these beautiful fit and flare dresses that make any girl look adorable. They have a feminine charm and come with sweetheart necklines, round necks and mesh or lace. Do yourself a favour, go buy those pumps or stilettoes instead of doubting your ability to walk in them, you will strut with confidence like no one else will. If you don’t mind shopping online, Alia Bhat’s collection on Jabong has some serious chic.

5. Sweater outfits.

A personal favourite, sweaters are comfortable, look great and hide any patch of flab you think you have and these are available almost everywhere, from Colaba causeway to Disney theme at Mango. Team an oversized off shoulder sweater with leggings and boots or sneakers, style your hair in waves and put them up in a pony tail for that uberchic look.

6. Jumpsuits.

Leave all that fuss behind with the only thing you need to fit in- a jumpsuit. Available in prints, Indian designs, full lengths and half lengths, all you need is a light jacket and a headband and off you go, sashaying to the music. These are available at Vero Moda, OMG and AND.

7. Gowns.

These have gained a lot of popularity recently, long flowy. A good twist would be an asymmetrical one which is feminine and different. These are available all around Bandra and major brands like Global Desi.
