new Parvati Balagopalan film Straight!

Anuj Chaudhari
How did you venture into acting?
I’ve been modeling for quite some time now and my sister has been acting for some time in the TV industry in Mumbai. After I moved to Mumbai from Delhi, I happened to see Vinay Pathak’s C for Clown and was immediately inspired to meet him. He recommended that I go and meet Parvati Balagopalan, the director of Straight. Soon after this, I auditioned and got through.

Tell us something about your role.
My character’s called Kamlesh and I play the role of a chef as well as a stand up comedian. I am a friend and confidante to Vinay Pathak’s character. Basically, my character leads him to find love.

What is your daily exercise regime?
I follow the multi-joint exercise regime which focuses more on the lower body. I also follow a very good diet called the ‘Blood Group Diet’ where I do not have to stop eating but have to have quantities and types of food that aid in better digestion.

What is your advice to young people who want to enter the film industry?
Don’t forget your instincts.

Siddharth Makkar
How did you venture into acting?
I am basically from Mumbai. I went to the US to study Computer Science and Economics and hated it. I always had a little acting bug in me. So I came back to Mumbai and started seriously pursuing it.

Tell us something about your role.
I play the role of Rajat, who is the lead singer of a rock band. He is a British born guy, adored by the girls. He is someone who’s comfortable being Indian as well as British. He is Pinu Patel’s (Vinay Pathak) cousin and both their personalities are completely contrasting in the film

What is your daily exercise regime?
I never go on a diet as such. I eat 4-5 times a day- fruits, lunch dinner, vegetables, and cereal. I try and get all food types! I work out four times a week, play sports, go running and lift weights.

What is your advice to young people who want to enter the film industry?
I think that youngsters today have to be sure of what they want. They shouldn’t enter the industry just for the glam aspect. That is just a small part of all the effort that is put it. One just has to want it very badly!
