Review; Predestination

Predestination is the new film by the Spierig brothers. Based on the classic short story “All your Zombies” written by Robert A. Heinlein. The film stars Ethan Hawke as an agent who works for an organization that uses time travel to prevent bad thing from happening.
‘The Fizzle Bomber’ is trying to blow New York up. Ethan Hawke makes it his life’s work to stop the Fizzle bomber.
The first 2/3rd of the film is based in the 60s where Ethan Hawke’s character is posing as ‘The Bartender’ when one day a young man, a writer comes in and gets into an incredibly interesting conversation revealing his writing alias as ‘The Unmarried Mother’. As the two go on conversing about the weirdest story ever, we get to see that the film is basically dragged by love.
The best thing about the film is Sarah Snook, she has a very young Jodie Foster kind-off aura around her. Playing the young writer she is incredible. Also there are very few things to point out about, since the time travel logic in the movie works pretty darn well. Yes it gets incredibly weird at times but there is no denying the fact that its entertaining throughout. Also the film would be brilliant for the people who like films that will screw-up your mind when they are over. There is a nice little twist in the end which will probably leave your jaw hanging for quite some time.
Final Verdict: Predestination is an entertaining film that genre aficionados will really dig.
Rating: 3.5/5
