It was my best friend’s birthday and she said “I’m taking you to Persian darbar” and I was like huh what? I had never heard of the place, let alone want to ear there.

That was the day chicken became my favourite food forever. I have been a non vegetarian for 17 years of my life, till 3 years back when I decided that I wanted to try chicken. I started with a subway and stayed fond of chicken but never loved it till I went to Persian darbar.

I want to start by saying that this place is legendary. Seriously. It’s this classic and elegantly designed place that looks very royal and vintage. The staff is nice and prices are acceptable (but worth it). And the food…. The only word that fits here is foodgasm. We ordered chicken tikka (Rs. 250), chicken tandoori (Rs. 175, half) and naan. It was love at first bite. Spicy, rich, creamy and lip smackingly good, these guys know what they’re doing.

The table next to ours ordered this huge kadhai of biryani, raan biryani which looked amazing but also way beyond the capacity of two 20something girls. The food is delicious and makes you come back again and again, rendering the college canteen chicken look like a baby before this mighty beast of a dish.

If you too are a chicken lover, this is the place you HAVE to try.
