Restaurant Review: 5 spice

If you are wondering where to treat your buddies this birthday, then 5 Spice is an apt choice. 5 Spice is the famous Chinese franchise that you will find in every nook and corner of Mumbai. This restaurant has its branches in Bandra, Oshiwara, Mahim,
Sakinaka, Fort & Borivili.

The best thing about 5 spice is the large portions of food that it serves. Suppose you are a group of six then you can easily order for two and be more than sufficient. This is no joke.

If you are in Bandra then it is stone throw away from Palinaka. This Chinese restaurant serves alcohol too; one more reason why people crash here on a weekend.

The restaurant is open in the day time and evening post 7pm until midnight. The restaurant has seating arrangements for 2 as well as for 3 but mainly you will notice people coming in with a bunch of friends, colleagues even the entire family, you know the reason why.
Now they have a variety of specialties from South Asian cuisine. As soon as you make yourself comfortable they serve ‘Temchi’ which is carrots, cucumbers and cabbages finely sliced in a small bowl with some spicy sauce and coated with sugar. It is a salad with
a twist and tastes yummy. We did not want to order the regular soups so we tried the Prawns Tom Kha which is prawns with coconut milk and mushrooms. It’s unimaginably refreshing and sets the appetite on the right note.

Following which we ordered Chicken Pot rice. Again not disappointing at all. For treats make sure you order 5 Spice noodles – it will live up to the quantity you expected. Our
bill came around Rs 500 (for two).

It also has a small bakery within the restaurant which has the best pastries in town. So do indulge after a spicy dinner.

Make sure you reserve your seats before you head here!
