“Not having seen the cinema of Ray would mean not having seen the moon and the sun,” said Akiro Kursowa
This probably means that most of us have not seen the moon and the sun. With this thought and inspiration of Ray’s films, the students of Bhavan’s College are all set to come up with the Ray Film Festival, 2010 from 23rd -25th February, 2010.
This fest is an opportunity for aspiring film makers to showcase their talents and most importantly for one and all to come, watch, discuss and enjoy Satyajit Ray’s cinema,
RAY – a journey through the lens gets its name from that ray of light that gives a maker his film. It is the ray of sunshine that ignites our minds and sparks off the imagination into limitless bounds .The Ray of hope, inspiration and exhilaration that is required to keep a film going, to complete it against all odds is synonyms with the organising committee of the Ray Film Fest who are trying to make this event a grand success.
Satyajit Ray is a symbol of excellence. A scriptwriter, music director, art director, cinematographer and a director –a complete film maker who has attained success with his Pather Panchali, Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Feluda, Teen Kanya, Appu Triology and that is why we have selected Ray as our theme.
Thus, this festival aims to be a complete package of entertainment, knowledge, experience, creativity and enjoyment. There are 14 events competing for cash prizes and internships in the categories of fiction, factual, ads, and literary. It will be a learning experience for all through the script writing, direction, acting, and editing workshops by eminent personalities.
“Come relive the cinema of Satyajit Ray. Come rejoice the art of film making”
