Movie Review; Kalank

The year 1946 the country is in political turmoil and on the brink of civil war.
An Affluent family of Chaudhary’s living in a city of majority Muslims finds itself running a newspaper that’s not in favour of the public demands. The young daughter in law falls in love with a poor Muslim blacksmith who seems to have sinister intentions which the story unravels.

What’s Good:
The production scale is very high, The set designs, the clothing, the jewellery everything is top notch with no cost cutting anywhere. The music and songs are superb. The acting by the whole star cast is also not bad, especially Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.

What’s Bad:
An outdated plot with a very predictable storyline. The screenplay is boring. The length of the movie is too much, needed better editing.

My Verdict:
A grand film, with an undeservedly high production value wasted on a slow outdated script.

My Rating – 2.5 of 5 Stars
