4 ways to avoid being branded a SLUT

We all know that men objectify women, and some of us get branded as a SLUT for our choices and actions. So I decided to help women out and come out with some guidelines on how to avoid this labeling.

For starters,

1) DO NOT TALK TO MEN!!!
I know most of you have let out a gasp in shock. But this has a 100% success rate. Try it to believe it. But this may not be an option because, today you have no choice but to interact with men, in colleges or at the work place. Some of us may eventalk to men, because we believe that we are smart and have an opinion which is worth sharing.

2) BROTHERISATION!!
The Indian society has endowed women with another great solution to slut problem, make every guy you talk to your Rakhi brother. You can have no male friends, only brothers and the boyfriend. Talking and hanging out with only these two male species will keep you safe from any labels.

3) AVOID SMILING AT MEN!!
Avoid smiling at all costs, if you are seen smiling at men, they may construe it as an attempt to flirt. And god forbid you smile at more than one guy, then you are a definite slut for flirting with multiple guys. No one really cares that you were being polite and smiling to make the other person  feel comfortable

4) DON’T DRINK WITH MEN
Indian men are yet to get comfortable with the idea of women drinking. Drinking with your girl gang, is fairly acceptable. Besides seeing a bunch of drunk women only lights fuel to men’s desire of catching some lesbian action. However if you are seen drinking with some guys you are seen as a little too bold. Since you don’t fit into their ideal woman image, you must be a slut.
I am sure many men would indignantly deny the above accusations. Most of you feel it is okay to objectify women as far as it is done in jest. You may believe that you are not standing up for the women because it is only a joke. Besides in a group of men who are joking about such things you don’t want to be a thorn and ruin the fun. Saying that you don’t approve of such jokes is uncomfortable and could lead to you being humiliated for being too sentimental. So you take the easy way out, convince yourself it is just in good humour, and you would stand up if things get serious. Although I fail to understand how a woman’s character assassination or a disgusting discussion of her body is not serious. Saying that you respect women is one thing, actually taking an action takes some courage.
I am sure there are men, who don’t fall into the above category, who actually respect women, to them I would like to say “thank you for letting me be myself, rather than who I ought to be according to you”

PS: I have always wondered what the male equivalent of a slut is. Please comment and let me know, if you know the answer
