Hey Ram, Hey Laxman

It was a test-ing time for the Indian Cricket team. Varun Vazir analysis the result.

October’s here when most of the students are preparing for their exams and recently even team India had to face a test in a test match v/s the jumpy kangaroos. India had to chase more than 70 odd runs with only two wickets in hand and in such a dicey situation that most of us had given up hope. But then, there was V.V.S.Laxman who did not give up.

Laxman’s 73 not out, was a blessing for the Indian team who would have faced a lot of embarrassment if he wouldn’t have taken up the responsibility on his shoulders all by himself. India won the 1st test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at Mohali with an unbeatable 1-0 series lead with a thrilling one wicket victory. But yet, a name as big as V.V.S.Laxman does not often get the ‘massive publicity’ or fame unlike his fellow players Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar , M.S.Dhoni or Yuvraj Singh. One reason that I heard on TV was that Laxman is not as masale-dar as others. Is he to blame because he is one player who minds his own business and makes his bat talk for himself, or because he is far away from controversies, or because he doesn’t have a wife from the glamour world?
And India still remains the champions on their home ground as Ricky Ponting has not won a single test against India in India.

Gandhiji’s last words – “Hey Ram”……Ricky Ponting’s last words after the Mohali test: “Hey Laxman”!!!
