Acting is a passion, hobby, love and life for a lot of us. Be it school plays, college short films or a video made for a friend’s birthday, we all like some drama. But if you think you have that acting bug in you, if you stand in front of the mirror and try mimicking your favorite actors. If being an actor is your dream then JAM will help you find a stage. Below are some of the renowned workshops that will inspire, enrich and polish that artist within you.

Nobody is unaware of the fact that Anupam Kher is one of the finest actors in the industry. Actor Prepares is his academy and is regarded as one of the premier schools for acting. This institution has produced some very well known personalities, like Deepika Padukone, Mughda Godse, Nikhil Dwivedi, Gauhar Khan, Zarine Khan, Rahul Bhatt etc. It is learning acting at its best. They have various courses ranging from a 3-month diploma to a proper certificate course.

Their weekend acting workshop will not only improve your acting skills but also improve your confidence and help you build a strong presence. The workshop is spread over 4 weeks.

The National Center for Performing Arts has always held the best plays and workshops in the city. Most of the famous theater personalities of today have, at one point or the other performed on this stage. The Spit Theory is their summer workshop which aims to build a spontaneous and talented actor. It is basically for amateurs and aspiring actors in the theater field. It will help you tackle your stage fright and build the much needed self-confidence. The Spit Theory is being conducted for the first time at the NCPA. However, Mr. Meherezad Patel has conducted a lot of workshops for beginners in various places like Bombay Scottish School, Bombay Teachers Training College etc.

Your passion for acting wouldn’t have missed this school. It is ranked among the world’s top ten film schools. One of the premier schools for film making, Whistling Woods also holds short term courses in acting. It aims to give you an introduction to acting while teaching you some basics of the trade. It is great for your first step towards the stage. The course is headed by Rob Recce.

The DTCA has been organizing workshops for many years now. They have trained more than 550 students in acting. They specialize in theater acting and producing stage plays. It also gives you an opportunity to act in a play at the end of the workshop.
