Ever since the 2008 Olympics, when Abhinav Bindra won a gold medal in Air Rifle Shooting, the sport has been gaining popularity among the youth in India.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nAir Rifle Shooting is a sport played right from District Level to Olympics. In this sport, the shooter must stand and hold the rifle. The target is set at a distance of 10 meters. There are two types of targets to shoot at, the first is a single target, and this is a square piece of cardboard with one\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\ntarget printed in the middle. The second is a strip containing 10 targets. The scoring method is the same regardless of which type of target is used.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”The advantages of Air Rifle Shooting can be manifold like increase in concentration, improvement in steadiness, development of sharp reflexes\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nthereby improving coordination of mind and body. It can be a great confidence booster and it certainly can de stress you while being exciting\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nat the same time,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” says Jawahar Joshi (48) an instructor of Air Rifle Shooting since 1987.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nJoshi runs an academy of Air Rifle Shooting at Raja Shivaji Vidyalaya, Hindu Colony, Dadar (East) and Shailendra Vidyalaya, Shailendra Nagar, Dahisar (East) in Mumbai. He also conducts workshops in educational institutions all over India especially during sports festivals.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nHis association with this sport goes way back; he learnt the art of Air Rifle Shooting from Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtirya Smarak. Subsequently, he underwent rigorous training and successfully completed Instructor’s Course in Air Rifle Shooting at the Weapons Training School, Ahmedabad. That enabled him to be a certified Instructor of Air Rifle Association of India, New Delhi.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nHe has taught the art of Air Rifle Shooting to people from all walks of life right from kids to senior citizens. Many students trained under him have\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nparticipated at various levels and won accolades. There is no age bar to participate at any levels.
