Sweden. Land of death and black metal. Where lyrics about intestine entrails and burning flesh are as commonplace as the snow that falls there seven months a year. Where, by some skewed curve of an alternative reality, five guys in funny white tuxedos got together and started singing songs about everything in general, and nothing in particular.
They came, they saw, and they kicked out the guy shouting "Pantera Rawks!". TH is the follow-up to their highly successful breakthrough Veni, Vidi, Vicious, and though it isn't as thrashy, or edgy, as VVV, TH certainly is classic Hives. If you haven't heard the Hives before, then this should give you a fair idea of what they are: Rolling Stones vs The Strokes vs Green Day. TH crashes into a grunge-punk-garage madness with the heady Abra Cadaver. Lead singer Howlin' Pelle Almquist's vocals are like running fingernails down a chalkboard. The highlight of the album is the hit first single Walk Idiot Walk, with a catchy riff, and some mindlessly-stupid-funny lyrics.
TH doesn't let up on the pacy riffs at all. One piece of advice - Universal has only distributed so few copies of this album, so get your hands on it, NOW!
