Dan is living the life of any carefree 21 year old, revolving around a bunch of friends and fellow hotel interns who feed off each other’s everyday moments, their ups and downs. Shiuli is one such intern at the same hotel, who at times is at a receiving end of Dan’s audaciousness. Life goes on until a sudden turn of events smashes Dan and Shiuli’s lives together, into a bond that’s unlike any 21 year olds. The emotional connection between them goes through a metamorphoses that brings out a form of love that’s unlike any other eventually leading to an internal awakening.
Acting performance by actor Varun Dhavan is fantabulous he imbibe into the serious character like a fish takes to water which is the exact opposite of the usual loud tapori boy roles he usually does,
Actress Banita Sandhu in her minimalistic role will steal your heart and veteran stage actress Gitanjali Rao plays the perfect bereaved mother,
Director Shujit Sarkar has a perfect story which is very well written and superbly directed and emotes by all, it will bring down the tears of everyone who has ever had a loved one in the hospital for a long period of time, even for those who have not it still is an emotionally touching film, it shows how love and binding is so selfless and above expectations of any sort, background music by shantanu Moira is heartwarming and beautiful,
What’s Bad –
The movie lacks entertainment value anybody looking for the usual Varun Dhavan style comedy and action will be badly disappointed, it’s a film for the sensitive and educated classes and definitely not for the masses.
My Verdict –
October is a brilliant masterpiece of a film with a very true and heartwarming message on humanity which only an educated and sensitive human will understand and appreciate.
My Rating 4 of 5 stars
