What’s Good –
The Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Saswata Chatterjee blow you over with their performances.
Ranbir Kapoor barely ever drops an emotion in the whole movies duration, Saswata Chatterjee proves himself as a proper veteran of Bengali cinema and shines in his role as a father and intelligent spy.
The fresh concept by Anurag Basu of mixing an imaginery world full of surprises making a Detective movie in a musical format and mixing all of the above in a father son saga makes the movie a very intriguing watch due to fresh and brave experiments that Anurag Basu has dared to make.
What’s Bad –
The concept of a musical in a Detective movie was a fresh idea but nevertheless it is an unsaid but naturally understood fact that a musical has to have good songs, sadly which is not true here almost all of the songs dissapoint,
The mix up of so many genres makes the execution confusing and the movie is not able to stick to its entertaining purpose and tends to be overtly long and boring,
It wants to be a funny kids detective drama but ends up all foiled and confused,
Katrina Kaif is not known for her acting skills but more for her beauty and dancing sadly this movie doesn’t even let her elaborate that potential she is made to look funny has a poker face and very less or no dancing scope which totally ruins her being in the film itself.
A fresh brave and ambitious experiment by Anurag Basu which leaves a bad after taste due to failed execution of the concept.
