The story revolves around Harry (Shahrukh Khan) and Sejal’s (Anushka Sharma) journey across Europe. A search for Sejal’s engagement ring makes Harry understand love and relationships better. Sejal experiences new found freedom, security and solace in Harry’s company and in between all of this – there is love, life, lies, thrill, fantasy and the search for the voice within.
It’s great to see the Badshah of romance do his role like a pro. Anushka Sharma as Sejal Zaveri just imbibes the character of a Gujrati girl from a well to do family and she actually get into the skin of a girl who is raised in Gujarati culture. Both have given their best despit the story line being very cliched.
The Cinematography and the locales shot of Europe in various countries is simply beautiful and one of the saving graces of the film, Music Director Pritam comes to the rescue of this nearly 2 hour long tirade with some nice numbers.
A clichéd story line every minute of the scenes every dialogue literally screams been there done that a thousand times. In spite of sincere hardworking and superb acting skills by both the leads the clichéd scenes just lull you to sleep and bore you to death.
The lack of a screenplay and plot in the movie is so obvious its like the director just thought of the scenes on set and just made them do it spontaneously,
Director Imtiaz Ali has simply lost the plot he coming from a genius like him who has given such path breaking and super hit films this one is a let down. Especially given that he has two of the most talented performers at his disposal this lost film is an unforgettable offence.
The film is an absolute boring dud, watch it only for a free trip to Europe without spending lakhs.
My Rating – 2 of 5 stars 1 for acting and 1 for the scenic Europe tour.
