Schulich School of Business – SP JAIN Collaboration
Thinking of getting an MBA degree but cannot decide between a foreign or Indian degree? Why not have the best of both?
The Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, Canada has recently launched the Schulich India MBA, which is India’s newest MBA program.
The Schulich India MBA is among the first MBA programs to be delivered in India through a collaboration involving an Indian business school and an international business school. The new MBA program has been established through a unique twinning arrangement between two leading schools- The S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) in Mumbai, India and the Schulich School of Business. SPJIMR is rated among the top three private business schools in India and Schulich is rated number one in Canada and is also among the world’s leading business schools.
The Schulich India MBA Program is anticipated to begin in January 2010. Students enrolled in the program will complete the first year of the Schulich India MBA, taught by Schulich faculty and complemented by faculty from SPJIMR, at SPJIMR in Mumbai. Students will then complete the second year of the program at the Schulich School of Business, located in Toronto. The fees will be the same as Schulich School of Business. However, since the first year will be in Mumbai, the cost of accommodation will be relatively lesser. Fully equipped apartments around SPJAIN will be provided to the students.
Schulich Dean Dr. Dezsö J. Horvath, who was visiting India for the launch stated, “We’re very proud and excited about this collaboration with The S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research to provide one of the first truly international MBA degree programs offered in India.”
