Debutante author Falguni Kothari shares with JAM , her experiences and inspiration behind her novel, Its Your Move Wordfreak.
It was either writing a book or cooking for Falguni. “I began writing accidentally by a little prodding from a family member three years ago. I realized I was a writer when I had my very first manuscript in my hands a year later,” says she.
It’s Your Move, Wordfreak! is a modern-day romance between two ‘wordy’ soul mates who meet via an online Scrabble game. When they take their relationship offline, they find that the real world forces them to spell out words they both would rather not, like LOVE and FORGIVENESS.
She reveals, “I am a Scrabble enthusiast and play it on a daily basis and I believe in one of my fun chats with one of my opponents I said something like…you’re move, wordfreak” and there it was…my book’s title and the story followed.”
She says, “If you have a romantic soul, a love for our planet and a zest for life, then you should definitely read my book.”
This Mumbaite is a wife, a mother to her children and a dog lover.
She is an avid reader of Nora Roberts, Diana Gabaldon, J.K. Rowlings, J.R.R. Tolkein, George R.R. Martin and greatly admires their craft.
She thinks E-books are here to stay and will eventually dominate the whole industry.
She is soon going to come out with a short-story ‘Scrabbulous Impressions’. She just finished a paranormal/fantasy manuscript set within Indian mythological elements. She is also working on another contemporary romance right now.
For those who have the itch to be an author she suggests to sit down and write every day.
