Fourth year law student and a computer wizard, Aditya Nag from Jaipur is making it big, reports Aaishwari Chouhan!
When Aditya Nag didn’t score high enough to make it through the engineering exams, he sat back at home reading various books. Pretty soon he set up a Local Area Network (LAN) at home!
Nag’s mother was worried. To keep peace he appeared for the National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur entrance exam and was surprised to know that he secured second rank.
But Nag’s love affair with technology continued. He volunteered to set up servers on Linux at his college. By the time he started his third year, he was known as a geek and had completely taken over the systems administration. He had also set up a robust network of over 400 computers, mail servers, proxy servers, logging and monitoring servers, wireless networking and a whole bunch of other things.
While reading an article on linux.com he noticed a link below the page that read: write for us and get paid. For the first time he realized that his interest in Linux could actually be worth something. He started writing more regularly for other sites and one thing led to another.
In India, he has written for LinuxForYou, a monthly magazine and internationally he has worked for Open Source Development Labs (OSDL).
He has just finished his fourth year at law school but has no intention of becoming a lawyer. He would love to be rich and successful but that’s merely a means to an end, not an end in itself. As long as he is learning new things and applying his intellect he will stay happy, he adds.
