A Conversation With God

Me: So why do you consider yourself God?
God: I don’t, you do.
Me: Well you created me, does that not make you special?
God: Depends.
Me: On what?
God: Are you happy with yourself?
Me: I am not sure.
God: Do you think a person who creates something that no one is happy with is special?
Me: Not really.
God: Unless you are happy, I cannot say that I am special.
Me: I am not happy because I am not living fully.
God: Why not?
Me: Because there are boundaries and limits.
God: Who set those?
Me: I did, because I am afraid.
God: Afraid of what?
Me: If there are no boundaries, I may go too far.
God: And what is wrong with that?
Me: I am afraid of your retribution when I stray away from your path.
God: How do you what my path is?
Me: We all know what is expected of us. It has been written down in books and scriptures.
God: How do you that this path is correct?
Me: Are you saying that you could be wrong?
God: Whom do you know better, you or me?
Me: I don’t know much about you.
God: Yet you wish to walk on my path. Why don’t you decide what is right for you?
Me: …
God: I think you know the answer.
Me: I do. If I live my life according to your way, I can always blame you when things go wrong. If I live my way whom do I blame, but me?
God: That does seem like an easy way to live. Then why are you unhappy?
Me: Because it feels wrong.
God: Yet you continue to live like that.
Me: Are you saying I should do whatever I feel like without bothering about you or the rest of the world?
God: It does appear that it is exactly what you really want to do.
Me: And if I do that, and end up making wrong choices, will I face no repercussions from you?
God: If it is a path you created, it is completely new to me. How would I know what is right or wrong? How can I punish you then? In fact I believe I am being selfish by asking you to live your life fully.
Me: I don’t understand.
God: It is quite simple actually. Living your life according to your choices will make you happy. If you are happy with yourself then it makes me special. And just like you, I like feeling special. May be someday I could be happy too.
